Guides:
Edo Vricic is one of our most experienced guides. Apart from leading hiking groups and creating many of the programs in VMD portfolio, Edo is a passionate caver and a member of the VELEBIT caving club – one of the strongest in Croatia, a country with a long tradition of cave exploration.
Our program includes a visit of the tourist part of the cave (further exploration is allowed only to experienced cavers), where the official NATURE PARK guide will lead you through the „story about Veternica“. But, Edo’s knowledge of Veternica goes much deeper (literally), so if you are interested to hear more about Veternica’s secrets beyond the tourist part, Edo will be more than happy to tell you the story of what Zagreb cavers call „The mother cave“ – Veternica. Find out more about your guide here.
Weather & seasonality
Visit of Veternica is allowed anytime in the period MAY-SEPTEMBER. As the visit takes us into a cave, you do not have to worry about outside weather conditions. However, you should know that the average temperature in Veternica is about 6-7 °C, so you should have a warm jacket, fleece or similar with you.
Also, if you wish to visit other parts of Medvednica Park of Nature, after Veternica, we advise to take a rain jacket and goos shoes.
