A birdwatching weekend break where we take you on an amazing discovery of 2 RAMSAR sites in just 4 days! Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, lies on the banks of the biggest Croatian river – Sava. In the area around Sava we can find many wetland and swamp habitats, fish ponds, oak forests and similar habitats that hold a rich bird life we will explore during this great birdwatching weekend break. The main birdwatching sights we will visit are RAMSAR sites of Lonjsko Polje (Field) Park of Nature and Crna Mlaka fish ponds. Towards the end of the program, we will also have time for a discovery walk through the Old Town of Zagreb and taste some traditional meals of North West Croatia.
 

Itinerary / 8 days

• Day 1

  Arrival to Zagreb and transfer to the Lonjsko Polje Park of Nature.

• Day 2

  Whole day excursion in Lonjsko Polje (Field) Park Of Nature (RAMSAR site).

• Day 3

  Discovery of the avifauna around the Crna Mlaka ponds (RAMSAR site). Late afternoon transfer to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Evening walk through 900 years of Zagreb history.

• Day 4

  Departure day.
